Today will (hopefully) be the only time a blog post will be up on a Thursday. Obviously some Fridays will be busy and it might have to happen early but once you get into a pattern and you start to enjoy it, it feels weird to break the chain by say, posting a day early or maybe switching things up.
Anyway, today we start up the discussions on our main project and what it will be. Many people have started diving right into theirs and a lot of other people have some great ideas for what they want to do. Now is the perfect time to finally let go of my secret project idea. At the beginning of summer I decided that I would be building the Prusa Mendel (first version). For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a 3d printer model.
I know, there might be a few questions people are going to ask and maybe right now I don't have all the answers to them but that's the fun part. As we dive into our individual (or group) projects we get the satisfaction of finding the answers and solving a piece of the puzzle. To be completely honest, I am starting my project as I write this, figuring out what do I need, how many of the supplies and how much all of this will cost in both time and money.
Now, everyone always has a back up plan just in case the first doesn't go according to plan. But, not everyone needs one. This project I have thought long and hard about for over 3 and 1/2 months. Yes there is that chance it might not work out, but hey. It's a trial and error time for a lot of people. And on this note, I believe I should sign off. Maybe come up with a signature way of closing these off, "and stay tuned for next weeks blog, I'm your host, IZZY BEAN". I get that isn't very professional but hey, why not have a little fun.
